Jack Morey Waltman was born in Oakland, California He attended Fairfax High, USC and UCLA. He lived with his family in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles. It was there that he met Beverly Elgenson at La Cienega Lanes bowling alley, and their instant connection blossomed into a lifelong love. Jack later enlisted in the Army Air Force, where he underwent pilot training. Following the war, he and Beverly tied the knot. Subsequently, Jack delved into his passion for photography, particularly as a Zone System photographer.

He dedicated numerous years to honing his craft through workshops and collaborations with renowned photographers like Ansel Adam, Morley Baer  and John Sexton. Together, Jack and Bev embarked on adventures across California, Arizona, New Mexico, and other states in the western and southwestern regions of the US. Jack's photographic prowess earned him recognition among his peers, despite his reluctance to exhibit his own work in galleries.

While Jack and Bev were avid art collectors, they also supported various galleries, libraries, and environmental charities. Through this website, we aspire to garner the attention and appreciation that Jack's work deserves.
